Base E-Liquid - The Flavour House

What is Base E-Liquid?

Base E-liquid is that essential catalyst that mixes your desired flavour and nicotine hit together. Without base, E-liquid cannot exist. There are numerous options on how you can choose your base, and each type of base is made specially for a particular type of vape, feel, and texture.

What is Base made of?

Base is made of two main substances; VG (Vegetable Glycerin) and PG (Propylene Glycol).

The ratio of VG to PG dictates the difference between one type of base and the other.

So.. what are the options?

The most popular base selections are as follows;

50VG/50PG - The most popular choice, suitable for almost any vape, 50/50 is the best way to go when looking for balance between smooth vapor and a nice hit to the throat. Generally used with medium powered vapes, but occasionally used with low-power and high-power vapes. The most ideal coil resistance with this base lies between 0.4 and 0.8 ohms. Ideally, these liquids are used with low to medium nicotine.

70VG/50PG - Usually for the bulkier, higher power vapes, with sub-ohm coils under 0.4 ohms. These liquids are made for big, thick hits of vapour which go smoothly, directly to your lungs, producing thick milky clouds without leaving a burning sensation. Ideally, these liquids are used with low nicotine.

70PG/30VG - Generally for those with the lowest power vapes looking mostly for a strong nicotine hit and a harsh hit to the throat. Used best with devices that utilize coils above the resistance of 1 ohm. These liquids are the way to go for heavy smokers and come in medium to high levels of nicotine.

100% VG - This base is made strictly for the beefiest of coils, at the lowest resistance possible, ideally with rebuildable DIY coils. Max VG liquid is the thickest of the thick, and produces the smoothest, biggest, milkiest clouds one could possibly chuck out of a vape.

What is Vegetable Glycerine or VG?

Vegetable Glycerine or commonly referred to as VG is a thick liquid that is found in e-liquids and is more common than the PG counterpart due to the smoother feeling on the throat and thicker vapor. VG is usually found in medicines, sweeteners, drinks and even in the food we eat daily. VG is also used in shake and vape bottles in high quantities and is more suitable for a high powered sub-ohm device.

What is Propylene Glycol or PG?

The Propylene Glycol is a water-like liquid that is not as thick as it's VG counterpart. It is the substance in the e-liquids that is responsible for the harsher sensation on the throat which is usually considered the classic throat hit most cigarettes produces. Although it does not produce thick clouds, and gives a harsher vaping experience, it makes up for it with more intense flavour. The PG is a liquid which is more suitable towards the smaller and lower powered MTL devices. The liquid can also be found in basic foods, inhalers and consumable products.

Nicotine Shots/boosters

Nicotine boosters are usually contained in a 10ml container and has an 18mg nicotine concentration. The nicotine booster allows the user to increase the nicotine strength in their 0mg nicotine liquids such as the shortfills or in homemade DIY liquids.
